Michael Cox, a decades-long officer for the Boston Police Department, after being brutally assaulted

by fellow officers, while tracking down a suspect and fighting against attempts to cover up his attack; 

was sworn in as Commissioner of the Boston Police Department on Monday

After he took the oath at City Hall Plaza, Cox thanked his supportive family and friends for helping him through this incident

Cox is dedicated to changing policing and makes sure that no discrimination happened to any black or brown

Or no one from any caste or creed should be a victim of unconstitutional policing in the future

The man born and raised in Boston has been serving as the Police Chief of Ann Arbor, Michigan

Before taking up the position in 2019, Cox spent nearly thirty years in Boston's Police Department
